Lazarus Matlala - B A Social Work, DPLR Unisa, IPS Dipl. in Pers. Mg
Lazarus, a part-time CCMA Commissioner for the Gauteng, North West
and Mpumalanga Provinces, has over 15 years experience in labour
relations. Lazarus has facilitated B&A programmes for over 10
years.
Andre Rabe - BPL
Andre served as an Employee Relations Practitioner in a broad spectrum of industries ranging from mining through to the food industry. Andre, based in Gauteng, served as a part time lecturer in personnel management at the Border Technikon and has been extensively involved in course development and facilitation.
Martin Rabe - Advanced IR Diploma
Martin is one of our senior trainers and consultants. His 40 years
experience in IR and HR is evident in the experience and knowledge
he brings to his courses as a facilitator. During his career, his employment history included working as an Employee Relations officer at Rossing Uranium, the IR manager at Harmony Gold Mine and the HR manager at Durban Deep Mine in Roodepoort.
Vanessa Henry
Vanessa recently joined B&A Gauteng region as a part time trainer.
Vanessa currently runs her own attorney organsiation and
has many years of experience in the labour field including working
for the CCMA for a number of years as a Commissioner.
Toney Money
For the past 20 years, Tony
developed his skills in all three disciplines of Human Resources.
For the past 11 years, he has been consulting and honed his
competence in various sectors of industry, including but not
limited to, Information technology, property/ facilities
management, manufacturing (Plastics and Furniture), Engineering,
Education. In addition to his Generalist H R skills,
Tony has extensive experience in competency based job profiling,
integrating these aspects, with competency based performance
management; coupled with experience in all aspects of the current
Labour legislation which makes him a
valuable asset to out team of facilitators.

Based In The Western Cape: Mayne
Schabort
-
BA, HDE, IRDP, MBA
Mayne joined B&A in 1997 as director of the Western Cape
Franchise. Mayne has
held senior positions in HR and Training and has a good HR
generalist and OD background. She later specialised in the IR side
of business. This was where she gained valuable, hands on
experience in the dynamic interactions between labour and
management. Mayne provides a full spectrum of IR services
(including training, consulting, negotiating, employment Equity
planning, customised policies and procedure development) to a wide
range of private, public and NGO organisations.
Nick
Penstone has over 25 years IR and HR experience in heavy
engineering/mining and FMCG environments. He has converted this
experience for the benefit of new entrants through to Senior
Managerial positions in order to impart his knowledge. He has an
intense belief in the South African system and relies heavily on
practical and pragmatic solutions from actual events to
demonstrate his training intentions.

Consultants Based In KwaZulu Natal:
Bruno Bruniquel -
B.Soc.Sci. CHRP
Bruno, who started the business in 1981, researches, writes, directs and produces the company’s videos and various IR training programmes. Bruno has had extensive experience in industrial relations and human resource management including conflict management and dispute handling, negotiating procedural and substantive agreements with trade unions, and developing training programmes. Bruno is a registered mentor with the SA Board for Personnel Practice. His articles feature regularly in the Daily News, The Workplace supplement and the Durban and Pietermaritzburg Chamber of Commerce and Industries Digest as well as various other trade publications.
Alan Balding -
BA. IPM Diploma. PDM (HIV/AIDS Management), MPhil (HIV/AIDS
Management)
Alan is an HR generalist with over 25 years experience in human resource management, covering the public sector, metal and FMCG industries. His areas of special interest are Industrial Relations and the Management of HIV and AIDS in the Workplace. Alan has expertise in the management of benefits, having served as a trustee on provident, pension and medical aid funds and as the principal officer of provident funds. Alan has also facilitated a variety of interventions and is an excellent course facilitator. He has many years experience negotiating procedural and substantive agreements. He has often been the company representative in the CCMA in disputes relating to unfair dismissals, union recognition and unfair labour practices.
Roy Barrett –
RPP
Roy Barrett retired in 2001 as the Human Resources Manager of Masonite Africa and has joined B&A as a part-time consultant. Roy, who has a post graduate diploma in Industrial Relations from the University of the Witwatersrand, is a Fellow of the Institute of People Management. As well as being an experienced trainer, he has extensive experience in labour relations including negotiations, discipline and grievance handling as well as conflict resolution. Roy is a registered Assesor and Moderator.
Paul Bhengu -
B.A, UED (SA), BED, Dipl.Lab.Rel.
Paul Bhengu, a lecturer at the University of Zululand, Umlazi Campus, joined us as a contract trainer in 1995, focusing on supervisory and employee representative training. Paul has extensive experience in the field and has won the acceptance of both management and unions for whom he has conducted training.
Aubrey Gumede
- B.Soc.Sci.
Aubrey, a graduate of the University of Natal is an experienced IR consultant and trainer who has been an associate since 1990. He is co-author of the new B&A series on transformation management. His experience covers organisational transformation, union negotiations, dispute resolution, discipline and grievance handling as well as training at all levels including shop stewards. Aubrey currently serves on the board of a transport management consultancy and has had varied executive board experience.
John Purcell
- Dip. Insitute of Personnel Management
John joined Bruniquel and Associates (Pty) Ltd, as a part time consultant in 2008 after retiring as Human Resources Manager of Unitrans Sugar and Agriculture. He has an Institute of Personnel Management Diploma and extensive generalist experience in Human Resources Management and Labour Relations, including Wage Negotiations, Discipline and Grievance handling
Rick Rickards

Linda Smith - B. Soc. Sci. Hons Ind. Relations, BA Hons Ind. Psycho.
Linda, who comes from a local
government background in HR, is studying towards a Masters
degree in industrial and organisational psychology. She has a
number of years of experience in dealing with employment
equity and skills development issues as well as employee
assistance programmes. In addition to general consulting work
Linda also does special recruitment assignments for clients.
Burten Terblanche
– N Dip. HRM; NH Dip. B Prac; B.Tech. LRA
Burtie is an Associate and owner of the B&A Kokstad agency. He
has extensive experience in Labour Relations, which was
obtained through employment in Local Government and the
Department of Labour; and served 15 years in their top
hierarchy. He brings a further dimension to Bruniquel &
Associates with his experience in the public sector.
Bradley White -
BSc, HDE,DPLR(Unisa),IPM Diploma
Bradley joined B&A as a contract Consultant in February 2008.
He has 17 years experience in Human Resources and Industrial
Relations, having worked 15 years for National Brands Limited.
Bradley gained two years invaluable HR experience in the UK as
the Director of HR & TQM for Papyrus GB Ltd, a subsidiary of
Stora Enso and gained a number of year’s experience in the
facilitation of Continuous Improvement interventions
specifically Lean Manufacturing techniques and Six Sigma.
Bradley assists B&A with general consulting, is a member of
the IPM and a registered skills assessor with the Foodbev
SETA.
Tennyson Mahlambi -
BA Hons (Industrial, Organisational & Labour Studies &
Political Science)
A UKZN graduate in Industrial, Organisational & Labour Studies
& Political Science, Tennyson joined B&A in September 2005
whilst completing his Honours in Industrial Relations.
Tennyson has had extensive training in labour relations as
well as course Facilitation and Assessments. He is involved in
course development and is a major contributor to The
Communicator. Tennyson has a particular interest in Employment
Equity, Diversity and Organisational Development. Tennyson is
consistently rated as an excellent course facilitator.
